Maple Pecan Brie

1 (16 oz) Wheel of Brie – any brand, no need to go expensive

½ Cup (1 Stick) Salted Butter

2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

1/3 Cup Maple Syrup

1 Cup Chopped Pecans

Crackers and Fruit, to serve

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Cut off any hard rind on the Brie. Return the round brie to the box it came in, or make a tight fitting container out of aluminum foil. Either way, leave the top of the Brie exposed.

2. Place the cheese on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the Brie is warm and gooey. Transfer to a serving platter without puncturing the rind. While the Brie is cooling, make the maple pecan sauce.

3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, and pecans. Cook, stirring constantly until all ingredients are well combined, 3 to 5 minutes. Allow mixture to cool for 5 to 10 minutes until it has thickened up.

4. Dollop the warm sauce over the baked cheese and serve with assorted crackers and fruit. Might I recommend a chilled bubbly white beverage as well?  Then sit back and watch this decadent treat disappear!
